Just going with a stick in your hand

Midweek around the pilgrim's stick

In ancient times, pilgrims were handed a pilgrim's stick when leaving for a holy destination. As a support for walking, to ward off dangerous animals and above all as a faithful travelling companion. This midweek we will take walks through the meadows around Klooster Westerhûs and reflect on what gives us support and confidence on our life's journey. On Tuesday, led by Rogier Vogelzang, we carve our personal pilgrim's stick from a raw branch. The program is embedded in the daily rhythm of the monastery.
