About the funeral
You can contact the Monastery Church in the event of (the sight of) death and appeal to one of our ministers. As a monastery congregation we would like to be available, within our means, to those who call upon us in a situation of death. These include residents of the villages of Jellum-Bears, Weidum and Jorwert; residents of Nij Dekama; volunteers, freons, members and grandparents of the monastic congregation.
Anyone may call on us in principle. But we do ask for reimbursement of expenses. If the deceased contributed financially to the monastic congregation, the accumulated amount of the last three years is deducted from the requested reimbursement. This arrangement is the same for everyone; it does not matter whether a person is formally involved in church or monastic congregation. For more information:
