A place for peace, inspiration and community
Nijkleaster heeft als ambitie om een ‘klooster nieuwe stijl’ te zijn. Een retraiteplek voor rust, inspiratie en gemeenschap. Vanuit de Radboudkerk in Jorwert bieden wij activiteiten aan voor een dag of dagdeel. Op klooster Westerhûs kun je je terugtrekken voor een weekend, (mid-)week of langer.
Onze programma’s zijn toegankelijk voor iedereen – uit welke traditie dan ook. De kloostergemeenschap is onderdeel van de Protestantse Kerk in Nederland. We beogen een open klooster te zijn met een oecumenische roeping, gericht op kerk én wereld.
Singing at the monastery
Singing together is unifying. All voices flow together into a whole. This evening is for anyone who enjoys singing together. You do not need any singing experience. Led by choir director Martijn van Dongen we sing alongside music from Nijkleaster always something surprising. The music is unison and polyphonic.

NijKleasterkuier
Iedere woensdag ben je in de kerk van Jorwert van harte welkom voor een programma van stilte, bezinning en verbinding. Na het ochtendgebed volgt de Nijkleasterkuier, een gezamenlijke wandeling van ruim een uur. De ochtend duurt van 09.30 – 12.30 uur.
Mystical lecture by Marianne Vonkeman
Jorwert, Aug. 16: The unruly wisdom of faith growth Life with God is not always the same. Many experiential stories have been collected in the church about dealing with God. This mystical tradition tells us that there are stages in the life of faith.
Sunday: Celebrations
Every Sunday morning (usually at 9:30 a.m.) there is a celebration or morning prayer in the church of Jorwert. The celebrations are multilingual, including a focus on Frisian. In the LYTS&grut (small&large) celebrations the children are literally in the middle. The big people sit and stand around them.
Customized Program
Wil je Nijkleaster bezoeken met een groep, dan bieden wij graag een Programma op Maat aan dat aansluit bij jullie wensen en mogelijkheden. Verschillende groepen kerken, scholen, bedrijven of verenigingen waren al bij ons te gast.

At Nijkleaster we would like everyone who needs it to be able to participate in the activities. Or can stay at the monastery at It Westerhûs in Hilaard. Even if that is financially inconvenient for you.
