In today's reading we hear that Jesus was unable to perform miracles in his own town, neighborhood, family. They took offense at him; there was annoyance and skepticism. Because of that lack of trust, Jesus could do little for others. Miracles he could hardly do.

We can understand a miracle as a new opening, a possibility to change. To become better spiritually or physically, to grow in being human.
Henri Nouwen writes that faith is not so much about accepting something we cannot understand, but it is about trusting that we are loved and loved. Faith, "pistis," is about trust, entrusting. That through love something can become possible that was not yet there.

The question today is whether we ourselves have faith and trust in change, transformation, miracle. And does that have anything to do with our environment and family? Have we learned and gained faith within our family?

Thank you for the new kleasterklank, so that I, as a (recovering) sick person, could attend! One note: instead of the announced "Nim my, nim my sa't ik bin" we got to hear "Veni, sancte Spiritus".
