Nijkleaster has recently been featured on Wikipedia. The story begins with the following text:
Nijkleaster (also known as: Klooster Westerhûs) is an open monastic community in the Dutch province of Friesland. The monastery is located at It Westerhûs 1 near the village of Hijlaard and emphasizes silence, reflection, and connection. Together with the medieval Saint Radboud Church in Jorwerd, Klooster Westerhûs serves as the home base for this ecumenical faith community.[1] The community originated within the Protestant Church in the Netherlands (PKN) and is open to people from diverse backgrounds.[2] The traditional Friesian farmhouse where the monastery is located is called It Westerhûs and has been a listed national monument since 1970.
