The unruly wisdom of faith growth

Life with God is not always the same. Many experiential stories of dealing with God have been collected in the church. This mystical tradition tells that there are phases in the life of faith. Sometimes everything is clear, sometimes you are lost, sometimes there is turmoil, sometimes there is peace. The thoughts we have about God also change. We can grow in trust and surrender.

Marianne Vonkeman kept a diary about her relationship with God for thirty years. After her retirement - she was a Protestant pastor all her life - she published a selection from it under the title: I Miss You While You're With Me, Mystical Diary of a Pastor. In the lecture, she will talk about her spiritual path. She will explain how a person and the God relationship are viewed in mysticism. With examples of her own, we will hear about the various "dark nights" that accompany faith growth.
