(for Ash Wednesday)
That we know again,
that we are made,
taken, formed,
from dust of the earth.
That we know again,
that Thou hast given Thy breath
us;
Breath into us.
Breath into us,
fragile and brittle -
jars of earth,
that we know again
that Thou makest us.
That we know again,
that we are made.
That we know again,
that we are kin:
rocks and grass,
people and sky,
stars and seed,
hippopotamus and sparrow.
That we know again,
that we are made.
That we know again,
that we return
back into the dust.
That we know again,
that we are made.
That we join
the work of your hands.
